One of my favorite places in the world is the Grand Canyon. I’m hoping to do a hike there this Summer. It will be my 11th hike in the canyon. My Dad, pictured with me above took our family on the first hike in the canyon back when I was in Elementary School. I can’t wait to go back!
Well… here goes. Not that I have a lot of time for Blogging, but I did want to give this a try.
Like many magicians, I got my first magic set as a kid. But it wasn’t until I started teaching teens about the Gospel that I realized the value of utilizing visual illustrations to get their attention. I started with juggling and then moved on to illusions.
Life as a priest and as a pastor of a very active community leaves less time than I would like for dappling in the world of optical illusions. Still as one responsible for spreading the Good News to God’s “Children” of all ages, it makes sense to find ways to capture the imagination and make learning fun.I’ve found that doing Magical Revelations, a name that I had trademarked a number of years ago, the perfect tool. It’s also a fun outlet for my own creativity. I get to play with eletricity, chemicals, metal, woodworking… fun.
I do value the input of organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Magicians as well as the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. Linking Ring, MUM, Magic Magazine, Genie, and the Christian Conjurer Magazine are all helpful resources.
I enjoy retreat work, doing School Assemblies as well as Parish Special Events with a Gospel Message.
I’d be interested in hearing from you. Until next time… may God’s peace be with you!
